Behind the site

Colophon

A concise record of the design, technology, accessibility, privacy, accuracy, authorship, and review decisions behind this website.

Purpose

This is a personal professional portfolio centered on my education, campaign experience, community foundation, selected projects, and direction in Arizona public service.

Design

Warm cream, deep oxblood, charcoal, and restrained antique gold frame an Arizona civic-editorial system. A code-built signal field, map-like lines, and structured records add precision without making the site resemble campaign collateral.

Technology

The site uses Next.js 16, React 19, TypeScript, and custom CSS through one native Next.js build path for Netlify.

Typography

Newsreader provides the display voice. Public Sans keeps body copy and navigation readable. Both variable fonts are self-hosted under the SIL Open Font License.

Accessibility

Semantic landmarks, logical headings, skip links, visible focus, a native dialog menu, responsive reflow, reduced-motion support, and print styles are part of the implementation and review.

Performance

Pages use Server Components by default. There are no remote fonts, analytics scripts, animation packages, or component libraries. Client JavaScript is limited to the mobile menu and résumé print button.

Accuracy

Public claims are checked against a dated, public-safe source authority. Automated guardrails also detect prohibited claims, private-contact patterns, route regressions, and metadata errors.

Privacy

The site does not publish a phone number, personal email, street address, voter information, private campaign instructions, internal source documents, or third-party contact details.

Security

Security headers are configured once in Next.js. Clickjacking and unused browser capabilities are restricted. Content Security Policy remains report-only until a production Netlify response and a safe nonce or hash strategy can be verified.

Authorship

I directed the content, visual decisions, and final review. AI-assisted development tools supported implementation, testing, and revision.

Content Review

The public facts on this site are maintained from a dated source list. The visible review date changes only when the content is substantively rechecked, not whenever the site is built or deployed.

Revision

Built to grow without losing clarity.

The structure is intentionally small and auditable so new education, experience, and public-service work can be added without weakening factual discipline.
